Evaluation of blog experience

Well, this is the last post that I will write. I must admit that writing has never been within my favorite activities, it usually takes me a bit to express ideas and for this same reason I thought it would be hard to write the publications every Wednesday, however it was not so difficult. There were some topics that were not very funny but they definitely helped a lot to develop the vocabulary in English, besides, I found it very interesting to learn a little more about the ideas, feelings and aspirations of my classmates, it is useful to know them a little more. I think they are all very good writers, and it is very funny and interesting how each one develops the topic in a very different way from the other! I have always thought that watching series, movies and listening to music in English is very useful to further extend the knowledge of the language, but now I realize that this activity helped me a lot to develop a part of English that had not worked very well. Some days it to...

A career-related website

Hi! In this post I will talk about my favourite website. Well, I'll tell you... The National Forest Corporation (CONAF by it’s spanish acronym) is an organization in charge of managing forestry policies, as well as promoting the sustainable development of this sector. Among the policies that this organization administers is the National System of Protected Wild Areas by the state (SNASPE), as it’s name says, it protects areas with natural beaty or significant historical value. I think this website is very important because it contains the necessary information to know great diversity of natural environments that we have in our country. We can learn about the species of flora and fauna that parks, national reserves, and natural monuments protects. I visit this website regularly because it also provides tourist information about the places that it is allowed to visit. Thanks to this website, before my trip at the beginning of the year I was able to learn a little more about F...

A Subject I enjoyed studying this semester

Hello! In this post I will talk about my favorite subject of this semester. It's name is Structure and functioning of the ecosystems, although basically it is pure ecology. I like to learn and understand how the energy coming from the sun flows, which then passes through the plants, then through the other living beings and finally the decomposers take it, who can return it to the ecosystem. It is also interesting to know how we are connected to our environment, to know how we depend on other living beings, as well as we depend on certain lifeless factors. Something that I like a lot of this subject, are the readings that the professor gives, they are not extensive but they are quite explanatory. I must admit that I could not read all the material but I intend to do it when I have more time. Another point in favor of the subject is the teacher. I think he is an expert in his area and always motivates us to deliver the best of you, not only as a professional but also as a perso...

Climate change

Well, I think the existence of climate change is undeniable and this problem is getting worse with the passing of days due to big companies and industries. However, when I think about my generation I am optimistic because I believe we can make the change. I think that people of my age are increasingly aware of this problem and that it’s up to all of us to look for solutions. First of all, I think one of the solutions is education. If we could make the rest of society understand that climate change is a real problem and that we are all being affected in a terrible way, people would begin to react to the situation. Along with the previous idea, another solution would be to explain to people that making a small change in our lifestyle can make a big change in the environment, these changes are to produce less waste and recycle the residues we generate.  Always remember that we can make the change!

My favourite films

Hi, today i’m going to talk about my favourite films. My favourite films are three, which are Eternal sunshine of the spotless minds; Fight Club and Memento. Those films has in common “jumps in time”, this is something that I loved about films, books or series, because it makes you see the history in another perspective. In this opportunity I will talk about Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. If you don’t see it yet, you must to do it! In the first scene you can see a man who seems very lost, he decides to go to the beach (Montauk) instead of going to work. Then, in the train back to his house, he meets to a woman who’s very friendly and talkative. They decide to see each other again in another day, like a date. After this date, comes a “jump in time”.  At the first time that I saw this movie I didn’t understand it! Because before the first scene, they just know each other, actually they were a couple! But they can’t remember it because they decide to erase their minds...

My favourite picture

Image
Hi! Well, everyone who knows me realize that I really love photographs... I love the idea of immortalize memories. I have a lot of pictures that I like but I think this is the most important because appears all my family. I took this picture on January 1st of this year. It was a family lunch in the house of my grandparents. We spent all day together, since breakfast to dinner. My grandparents have a swimming pool so I swam all morning with my cousins and my sister, I really love spent time with them because I feel like a little kid again. In these days my mama likes cooking, she always says that is what makes her happy. She really loves when we all visit her too. After lunch we all went to swam, including my grandparents, it was really funny. I Iove when the whole family meets and we can have a good time.

Books

Hi! Well, books… I don’t remember the last book that I read, actually, I don’t used to read that often. But, when I want to read, I take what takes my attention in the moment. When I was in the school I read very interesting genres like Horror, Gothic literature, Fantasy literature, and a little bit of philosophic literature, I don’t know if it’s a genre but I hope can you understand it. I always have in my mind the “Allegory of the Cave” or “Plato's Cave”. Of Horror and Gothic literature I will always remember Edgar Allan Poe, with his classics stories like “The Tell-Talle Heart” or “The Black Cat”. “La noche boca arriba” is a very good piece of Fantasy literature, his writer was Julio Cortázar. I think the best book that I’ve ever read is “Die Verwandlung” or “The metamorphosis” of Franz Kafka. It’s a very interesting metaphor of life.
